The focus of Tracey's design for this piece is a single, beautiful inside-painted flower glass bead. The hand-painted flowers are set against a bright, aqua-blue background, giving the bead a tropical appearance. To complement this, she selected a single, elegant freshwater pearl for the stem, and set the entire design with sterling silver accents.
For the hairstick itself, we decided to use a single, beautiful piece of maple. A pale hardwood native to the United States, its delicate color is a wonderful complement to the tropical design. Rob hand-turned the hairstick, which was finished with a water-resistant satin coating, making this stick ideal for wet or damp bunning. The effective length of the hairstick is seven inches, and the entire piece measures in with an effective length of nine and one-quarter inches.
