The floral glass bead chosen for this design is difficult to do justice to in photography. Set against a wonderful blue background, the flowers are painted in flowing, three-dimensional shapes instead of flat against the glass, giving the bead a truly wonderful appearance.
To set off the beauty of the blue, and complement the white of the flowers in the glass, Tracey selected a single lustrous freshwater pearl that she set at the top of the design. The sterling silver stem follows the floral theme, and the entire design is set with sterling silver accents.
Continuing the light theme of this piece, we selected a piece of Maple, a beautiful, pale hardwood native to the United States. Rob hand-turned this stick, and to preserve its wonderful color, we selected a crystal-clear semi-gloss finish. The finish is water-resistant and durable, and makes this piece ideal for wet or damp bunning.
The finished hairstick has an effective length just under seven inches, measuring at six and seven eighths of an inch. The entire piece measures in with a total length of nine and one-eighth inches.
