For the focus of this design, Tracey selected a beautiful 18mm Rose Quartz gemstone. The modern alternative birthstone for January, Rose Quartz is prized both for its delicate color and for its spiritual qualities; it is believed to grant the wearer calmness of mind, and to enhance love. This gemstone features beautiful internal crystalline variations that we were unfortunately unable to capture with our photography.
To set off the focal gemstone, Tracey selected Rose Quartz and Freshwater Pearls, then completed the central dangle with a 14-karat gold filled heart. The design is set with 14-karat gold filled elements. Gold-filled elements have a substantial outer layer of gold, which can be as much as 50,000 to 100,000 times as thick as modern gold plated components. Because of this, gold-filled jewelry will resist tarnishing, and can be cleaned in the same way you would clean other gold jewelry. Cared for properly, gold-filled jewelry will last a lifetime.
For the hairstick itself, we selected a single piece of Rosewood Burgundy Dymondwood. Dymondwood is made from layered hardwood that has been impregnated with dyes and resin, then put under extreme pressure to densify and bond the material. The end result is a dense, durable material whose waterproof quality makes it absolutely ideal for wet or damp bunning. Rob hand-turned the hairstick, which was polished to a gleaming, glossy finish. The effective length of the hairstick is four and a quarter inches, while the total length of the piece measures in at six and five-eighth inches.
As with all of our hairsticks, this piece comes in an elegant drawstring bag, making it an ideal gift to
pamper yourself with or to give to someone special. We believe that hair jewelry should be well protected and presented
just as nicely as other fine jewelry, so Tracey has set out to make the highest quality gift bags she can.
All of our gift bags are hand-made from plush black velvet, lined with a luxurious, rich purple bridal satin.
Each bag is custom-made to fit every piece perfectly, and finished with a sumptuous pair of silky tassels.
Everything has been hand-made by Tracey, all the way down to the perfectly matching drawstring cord. The finished
result is absolutely wonderful, and we think you'll be as happy with the gift bag as you are with our hairsticks!
